About Early Learning Children start learning from the moment they are born. Their first five years are a crucial time, when the building blocks to be successful learners are formed. The scientific evidence is clear about this. It is also clear about the benefits of a quality early years education service for children. The educators we employ have a passion for early years and hold the relevant qualifications. Our ratios of children per educator is above the national minimum standard. It means our educators have the time and expertise to focus on nurturing each child’s curiosity and enthusiasm to learn. Learning through play Our play-based curriculum helps children to communicate, explore, discover, imagine and create. It is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. The framework describes five learning outcomes for children under five to achieve: A strong sense of identity, Connected with and contribute to their world, A strong sense of wellbeing, Confident and involved learners and are effective communicators. Our highly trained educators help children develop these skills, by working closely with families to get to know each child. They create a learning program that builds on every child’s interests and needs. We welcome parents and families to be part of this exciting journey.
My Time , Our Place Program A variety of supervised activities will be programmed for each day of Before, After School and Vacation Care (e.g. cooking; painting; clay work; crafts; music; indoor/outdoor activities).
Opportunities for quiet play will also be provided, including areas for children to withdraw from all activities. The My Time Our place Framework acknowledges the importance of play and leisure in children’s learning and development and that their learning is not limited to any particular time or place. Developing life skills and a sense of enjoyment are emphasized. The Framework recognises the importance of social and emotional development and communication in learning through play and leisure, and it forms the foundation for ensuring that children in all school age care settings engage in quality experiences for rich learning, personal development and citizenship opportunities.
The Centre Director will happily discuss any aspect of the program with interested families. Alternatively any family can give feed back to the Centre Director via the website, email, phone or in person.. The Centre Director also conducts regular surveys which gives families the option to convey any thoughts and inputs into the program. The children also get the opportunity to express their thoughts about the vacation care program and express any other idea’s they may have.
